What are the advantages of a steamer compared to a steam generator?

What are the different types of steam irons?
There are several types of garment steamers, each designed to meet specific garment care needs. Here are the main types of garment steamers available:
- Portable (or hand-held) steamers: these models are compact, lightweight and easy to handle. They are perfect for traveling or quick use at home. Their water tank is generally small in capacity, making them suitable for quick touch-ups.
- Vertical (or stand) steamers: these models are larger and equipped with a larger water tank. They are mounted on a stand or support and often include an integrated hanger, which allows you to steam clothes directly on the support.
- Professional Steamers: These devices are designed for intensive use and are often used in commercial environments such as hotels, clothing stores or tailoring workshops. They are robust, powerful, and have large capacity water tanks.
- Combined Steam Steamers (Iron/Steamer): These hybrid models combine the features of a traditional iron and a steam steamer. They can be used either flat like an iron or vertically like a steamer. Our flagship model is the SteamCube.
How do I choose the right steamer?
The choice of steamer depends on your needs and budget.
For occasional use and quick touch-ups, a handheld steamer will suffice.
For regular use and a large volume of laundry, opt for a vertical steamer (on stand).
For delicate fabrics and stubborn creases, choose a device with good power and a high steam output.
For ease of use, choose an ergonomic model with practical accessories.
How to remove wrinkles effectively?
The steamer is used in a vertical position to avoid condensation in the hose and to obtain optimal steam diffusion. Only certain models such as the SteamCube can be used in a horizontal position on an ironing board.
1/ First fill the tank then press the "on" button.
2/ Wait the indicated time before using it.
3/ Then place your garment on a hanger, button it if necessary and hang it on the integrated hanger rack.
4/ Hold the bottom of your garment to stretch the fabric and pass the diffusion head over it, touching the fabric well so that the steam passes through the fibers and relaxes them. Do not hesitate to remove your clothes from the telescopic rod. For shirt sleeves and collars, use the accessory provided for this purpose.
5/ Repeat the operation as many times as necessary.

Can I apply the diffuser head directly to the fabric?
Yes, it is even recommended for optimal results.
What materials can steamers be used on?
Our steamers offer a versatile and safe solution for removing wrinkles and sanitizing all types of clothing (delicate materials such as silk, cashmere and wool as well as more robust textiles such as cotton and denim). They are also ideal for refreshing your sofas, cushions, bedding, tablecloths and curtains. With the different power modes, you can easily adapt the steam flow to each material and guarantee optimal care for each type of fabric.
For example, the steamer avoids polishing suits. You can therefore save money on dry cleaning.
Are garment steamers effective against viruses (COVID-19), bacteria and germs?
In addition to removing wrinkles, steam eliminates up to 99.9% of germs, bacteria and viruses (including COVID-19). It is also effective in combating bedbugs, lice and dust mites.
What type of water should I use for my steamer?
You can use tap water directly. If you wish, you can use tablets or demineralized water. The limescale particles fall directly to the bottom of the tank and do not rise up the pipe to the diffusion head. Do not use additives (white vinegar, perfumes, etc.) which could damage the device.
Is the steamer economical in terms of energy consumption?
Yes, SteamOne steamers are designed to be energy efficient. With options like Eco mode and auto shut-off, you use less energy compared to a traditional steam generator.
How do I maintain my steamer?
Limescale is the main enemy of the steamer. To extend the life and performance of your appliance, remember to empty it regularly: rinse with water (demineralized to avoid limescale deposits) then wipe the anti-limescale collector with a cloth. The use of additives such as synthetic perfumes or white vinegar is strongly discouraged.

My device is leaking at the diffusion head
There may be a condensation problem at the diffusion head. Please write to info@steam-one.com for the replacement of the diffusion head.
My device turns off by itself after a few seconds
If the tank is empty: fill the tank and put it back in the base.
The tank may not be properly engaged in the device: change the tank direction (refer to the Quick Start document).
If this still does not work, please write to info@steam-one.com for replacement of the base of the device.
My device turns on by itself when I plug it in
This is an electronic malfunction. Please write to info@steam-one.com for replacement of the base of the device.
There are water droplets on the diffuser head
As with any device that uses steam, there may indeed be a few droplets.
This is often due to steam not being hot enough yet.
Wait a few moments until the pipe is hot.
Check that the hose is not twisted.
Always keep your steamer in an upright position.
The drain plug is broken
If the drain plug is broken, the problem is that the anti-scale rod has been damaged by the build-up of scale.
The complete cap must be replaced. You can order it on the steam-one.com website in the "spare parts" section.
The drain plug is stuck in the base
If the appliance is new, please write to info@steam-one.com for replacement of the appliance base.
If the appliance is already in use: Carry out the emptying procedure using white vinegar. Fill the tank with 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water, turn on the appliance (taking care not to put any clothing near the diffusion head), and let the tank empty.
The hose leaks during use
Please write to info@steam-one.com for replacement of the complete hose.
My device no longer turns on
First try plugging the device into another electrical outlet.
If this does not work, please write to info@steam-one.com for replacement of the base of the device.
My device is leaking from the tank
The fuel cap may not be properly closed. Screw it back on manually. If it is cracked or broken, the cap must be replaced. You can order it on the steam-one.com website in the "spare parts" section.
My device is leaking from underneath
The drain plug may not be properly closed. Tighten it manually.
If the appliance is still leaking, the cap seal may be damaged. In this case, the cap must be replaced. You can order on the steam-one.com website in the "spare parts" section.
The steam from my device only comes out when the hose is straight
If your appliance only produces steam when the hose is straight, it may be scaled. First, follow the standard draining procedure.
If this doesn't solve the problem, you can use white vinegar.
Fill the tank with 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water, turn on the appliance (taking care not to put any clothing near the diffusion head), and let the tank empty.
The problem is still not solved? Please write to info@steam-one.com for the replacement of the base of the device.
My device no longer produces steam or produces less steam
If your appliance no longer produces steam or produces less steam, it may be scaled. First, follow the standard draining procedure.
If this doesn't solve the problem, you can use white vinegar.
Fill the tank with 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water, turn on the appliance (taking care not to put any clothing near the diffusion head), and let the tank empty.

My device trips the electronic system
First try plugging it into another electrical outlet.
If the problem persists, it may be due to a leak inside the device. In this case, please write to info@steam-one.com for the replacement of the base of the device.
The appliance heats but does not produce steam when the trigger is pressed (portable steamers)
Try locking the trigger in the "continuous steam" position and then unlocking it. Please write to info@steam-one.com if there is no improvement.
How do I perform maintenance and repairs?
For maintenance, clean the steam head regularly and use water (preferably demineralized).
For repairs, please write to info@steam-one.com for replacement parts and repair instructions.
Delivery
There are items missing from my order: what should I do?
Check that the accessory is included with this model on the "Quick Start" document. If the order you received is not complete, do not hesitate to contact us at info@steam-one.com so that we can find a solution as soon as possible (we usually respond within 24 hours maximum).

How do I track my order?

Is it possible to pay by check?
Unfortunately, we do not accept check payments at this time.

How does invoicing and VAT work?

How to return a product and get a refund?

What are the exchange conditions?
If you wish to exchange a product, please write to info@steam-one.com to arrange the return and shipment of the new item. Exchanges are possible within 14 days of delivery. The product must be in good condition.
How long is the warranty?
We offer a 2-year warranty on all our products, including our spare parts, the availability of which is extended to 7 years. The warranty is activated as soon as you purchase your product.
