For many people, disinfecting fabrics is very important. We also know that many people are looking for alternatives to machine washing at 60 degrees, which sometimes damages certain textiles.
More than ever before, SteamOne has taken great care to ensure that its appliances provide perfect disinfection of fabrics. Medical services can therefore rely on our steamer to perfectly disinfect the gowns of health professionals, for example.
Disinfecting fabrics with a steamer
Did you know that steam has great disinfecting properties? Already widely used by major ready-to-wear retailers to disinfect clothes, steam cleaners are now also available to the general public.
During and after the Pandemic, SteamOne has attached a great deal of importance to its appliances’ effective disinfection of fabrics. The company has even conducted several studies with an independent French laboratory. The results are clear: SteamOne's powerful steam eliminates 99% of COVID-19* from the textiles most commonly used in the ready-to-wear fashion industry.
How do I disinfect clothes?
Disinfecting fabrics, whether clothes or any other object, is a very simple process with a good fabric steam cleaner. Disinfection can be carried out on all types of fabric, whether cotton, linen or wool. Unlike an iron, a steamer can be used to smooth creases out of clothes without the risk of damaging the textile fibres.
The only thing you need to do to disinfect and sanitise your fabrics is to know how to use our appliances, which are all very easy to use! SteamOne's primary mission is to guarantee the very best in technology and design by offering practical, easy-to-use appliances.
How does steam disinfection of fabric work?
Water vapour is simply water in a gaseous state. It is obtained by heating water to a temperature of around 98 degrees. This is the temperature of a steamer’s output.
The water in the removable tank of a steamer is heated to boiling point in the boiler, rising to a temperature of 98 degrees before it transforms into steam.
This warm, gentle steam cleans and disinfects fabrics without damaging them, while eliminating unpleasant odours. By penetrating fabrics without any direct contact, steam acts deep into the fabric without leaving it damp.
And the best thing about steam is that it's a natural way of disinfecting fabrics that's neither harmful to health, nor the environment. No need for chemicals!
Water vapour really does have unsuspected benefits for most of us! It naturally eradicates viruses, bacteria and microbes. No undesirable organism can resist steam propelled at high temperature over your fabrics or strategic areas of your home (cushions, carpets, sheets, curtains, etc).
